Soft Glans Syndrome

Post  Justin on Thu Oct 13, 2011 5:12 am

I figured I'd write about this one. One of the symptoms of my PSSD seems to be soft glans syndrome which you can read about here: http://www.sexualmed.org/index.cfm/sexual-health-issues/for-men/soft-glans-syndrome/overview/

I think mine was caused by SSRIs, but it can have other causes as well such as a venous leak or other unknown causes. There aren't any effective permanent cures that I know of except for a single individual who has the following forum who went to a foreign doctor: http://www.ed-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=24

This is another condition that is poorly understood that I think is worth posting about. Does anyone else have these symptoms as a result of post ssri sexual dysfunction?

Interesting. I have heard some people with PSSD mention it. God I wish I could recover.

Yeah I wish I could recover too. This condition really sucks. This is not the kind of christmas present I was expecting. For me, sex was like the only drug I had, I don't smoke, don't drink any alcohol, and I don't use drugs.

The condition I have is called anorgasmia, since about 9 months. Before, I was always able for have multiple orgasms, and I thought I would always be able to do that, but not anymore, since about 9 months. I'm going to visit my doctor in about a week from now.

I am sick of seeing online information that says it is in the mind. In my case it is a physical problem, and I'm pretty ready to get cured.

good luck.

update

Post  Mike23 on Sun Apr 01, 2012 2:13 am

I have had an update to my condition as of march 2012. So far, so good, everything works just fine now! just like when I was 18 !!
----------------------
edit - yes this was the march 15th incident.
was working amazing for 2 day period, march 15 - 16, unknown as to why.... this was 2012, march. have had 3 incidents like this. mid sept 2011, feb 20 2012, and march 15 2012. I don't know what or why this was. I would really like to know, or have some kind of explanation. never had sex like that before. it was pretty extreme. I would not need anything like that. for like 2 days my dick would not even leave me alone. some kind of extreme reversal of the condition. that would be fine to have all the time I guess. its way better than being able to do nothing. I would like to talk about this later, in detail, maybe there are some clues as to what is going on, or some more I can learn. it's been about, hmm, just under a year since that day. nothing much worked since then. basically one year without normal sexual function. All of this is very abnormal for me, as I was growing up and always, I always had a normal libido, anytime I wanted to go to bed with a girl or whenever whatever I could perform normally and very well.

That must be an edit. He only regained his sexual function a couple weeks ago. He got his from a dopamine antagonist though, so his problem was easier to treat. I recommended huperzine and ropinirole, and that did the trick for him. I haven't seen him on here since a day or two after things started working again. I guess he's been a little busy, making up for lost time so to speak.

it is explained above in the post. I would love to have that be normal, or be back to normal now. its all explained above. and yeah it was not really an improvement it was an extreme complete reverse of what the problem is. someone I talked to said this was because of built up testosterone or dopamine or something but that doesn't sound right to me because that would be cyclical, and would happen again, every now and then in a cycle sort of way. Yes that was him, the alternate doctor I saw. he was the one with that idea. He is ok in a way, hes nice to me at least, not all doctors are nice. lol anyway that was his theory when we discussed that. Just because he was nice to me , was I able to open up and tell him about the problem in detail.

I don't think that was because of a buildup of testosterone. If it would be that, it would happen again now and then. Its been like 9 months, and nothing like that has repeated. 0 % libido for past 9 months. anyway, we keep searching.

lol

yeah the ropinirole and huperzine for me did something the very first day that I got the ropinirole. then no more. Took it every day, twice a day , morning and evening. the shipment was 30 of them, so at that rate it was 15 days. I was talking to br man, and he said that he thinks we need to cycle things every few days, and that could help, like piracetam for 2 days, buspar, etc etc. I don't know. still searching as of now.

soft glans

Post  Mike23 on Sun Jan 27, 2013 11:52 pm

ok to address the title of this section. the soft glans syndrome.
for a while I did not know what soft glans syndrome meant. I didn't get what this section meant.

but let me see if this is right, when having sex the front / glans of your dick will swell occasionally during orgasm and get really hard momentarily. that's normal, and not being able to do that, is it just being soft. Is that what is meant by "soft glans syndrome" ?

yeah I have noticed that as well, course, orgasm does not work for me , and it cant do anything like that anymore.

On the few occasions when I can achieve a semi-decent erection, I have seen that I have this where I did not have it all before. There is a distinct difference in feeling between a soft-glans erection and a real erection.

In a soft-glans erection, you can feel the blood concentrated in the shaft, while a real erection feels like the blood is gonna push out of your head completely. I'd almost completely forgotten how this feels until recently when I took green coffee extract and it gave me the hardest erection I've ever had in the past two years after stopping Paxil (probably in my life frankly).

So I know at least that its possible to engorge the head but I'm sure it has to do with my overall erectile dysfunction rather than any specific problem.
